Happy Baystock. Every year I say it, “This was the best Baystock, again”. It really is better every year. On behalf of all Baystockers, I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make Baystock 2018 happen. It’s a big job, and the challenge was well met. This year’s schedule has been released. As you can see, we have added a couple more bands to the line-up, on Friday night. I wonder how long it will be, before this thing becomes a full week 🙂
Work weekend is the 18th and 19th. So, if you are handy and have tools, feel free to show up. There is always something to do. You don’t even need to be handy or have tools. Just come by for some prepping.
Short list of things to do:
– Gather firewood
– Weed wack and clear brush.
– Move benches and fire pit.
– Patch up the outhouses and other structures.
– Drink beer.

RYAN KEITH MARTIN
Ryan left us too soon on May 15, 2018 at the age of 53. He was born in Duluth, MN to Keith and Lorna Martin. He was the youngest of six children. Ryan attended Morgan Park High School and graduated from the last class before the school closed in 1982. Ryan graduated as a machinist at St. Cloud Tech. He was a member of ABATE, United Sportsmen Club, the National Rifle Association and the United Protestant Church. Ryan was the driving force behind the Diabetic Memorial Run which raised money for juvenile diabetes for 20 years. “Rain or shine it’s scooter time”. Previously, Ryan worked for RJ Sports and Cycle, Superior Motorcycle, and Arrowhead Machinists. Over the last 10 years Ryan was a maintenance mechanic at Sappi Paper Mill where he was proud to be part of their brotherhood.
Ryan was a spiritual man who found God in the lakes, rivers and streams. He was a family man who spent his time with his daughters, friends and loved ones. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, friend and partner. His passion was fishing and spent every moment he could enjoying the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Ethel Martin, Charles and Lorna Mullen and niece Shana Holt.
Ryan is survived by his parents Keith and Lorna Martin; daughters Melissa, Catrina and Kierdra; brother Randy (Ann) Martin; sisters Jill (David) Gordon, Terri (Jeff) John, Tracy Grandi, Robin (Mike) Motley; his first mate Lisa Gould (Cameo Torok) and dog Chi Chi. He will be greatly missed by his nephews and nieces Jessica, Harlan, Sean, Patty, Rebecca, Willie, Alex, Kelly and Joe. Ryan also had a large circle of extended family and friends. He loved you all as we do.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 23rd at 10:00 am with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN.

Joshua H. Munter, 43, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018.
He is survived by his spouse, Karen Grunow Munter, son Judah, stepdaughter Eily Fabjance, and stepson Kellan Fabjance. He is also survived by his parents, Don and MarySue Munter, and brother Justin (Katherine).
Josh graduated from Northland College in 1998 and remained in Ashland, contributing to the community as owner of HD Custom Guitar Supply and The Music Center, and through philanthropic efforts in area public schools and more. He was a frequent performer with local bands, including Sea Hag and Alpha City.
Funeral services will be held at the Sigurd Olson Institute at Northland College Monday, Jan. 22. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.

Dye, Gerald Alan of Wayzata, passed away at age 66 on Sunday, 11/8/15 at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. After an 18 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Jerry died peacefully.
Jerry is survived by his older brother Glen Dye and significant other, Kathy “Sunky” Conner and was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Gertrude Dye.
Jerry was a life-long skier, with annual visits to Alta and Snowbird Utah. He was an accomplished musician and all those who knew him were continually impressed by his graciousness, his mild personality, and his passion for music.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, November 20, 2015, at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408.
A reception will be held at a private residence following the service. In lieu of flowers, we prefer that memorials go to SSVF (Supportive Services for Veterans Families).

June 1, 1963 – July 15, 2017
DULUTH, Minn. – David E. Jence, 54, Duluth, died Saturday, July 15, in Lakeside Manor.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Arrangements by Cremation Society of Minnesota in Duluth.

Happy Baystock Everyone, 2016 was the best Baystock ever, again. We made it the whole weekend without rain. This was probably because we have a roof on the stage. Thanks to everyone who helped out in any way. This is definitely a group effort of immense proportion. There are a lot of photos posted here, so enjoy.

Sawyer William Grooms was born on February 14th in Harrison, Arkansas in 1990. He was passionate about writing and performing music with his more like a brother than a friend Ethan Hyde. Together they traveled playing music and experiencing the country.
Sawyer was also a wildland firefighter working with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Park Service.
Sawyer is survived by his mother Myra Foster; parents by choice Pauline and Ernie Grooms; brothers Denzer, Bridger, Daniel and David as well as his uncle Rob and Aunt Ardis and grandparents Frank and Coralee Foster. In addition, Sawyer is survived by the love of his life Lilly Rose Duffy. Sawyer will have the last word on Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 at the Chequamegon Community Church on Country C, Washburn.
Wow, are there some great improvements, this year. The stage was torn apart, properly adjusted and re-fitted with a new floor. Also, the old shower was taken down and a new one has been put up!
During the work weekend, the stage gave up a bounty of old cans of corn, as well as bees! Yes, not only ticks, but also bees, for 2014!
